Biography & Accomplishments:
Cynthia Nicole Giles is a spoken word artist and public speaker who performs for audiences of all ages; from entertaining a crowd at an open mic' night, to moving the hearts of students in a classroom, she works hard to inspire her audience. Cynthia is a powerful writer, who enjoys writing in all types of genres and styles. Her goal is to honor God by remaining humble and thankful for the ongoing opportunity to make a positive difference in the world. Her passionate and mind-blowing performances give a voice to the voiceless, relinquish hope through the redemptive power of love, and replace silence with freedom to those who are oppressed. Cynthia comes from a highly creative family and engages with a wide variety of the performing arts. She holds a bachelors degree in Integrative Studies, with concentrations in English and Writing from Kennesaw State University.
Cynthia submitted her poetry to audition for award-winning spoken word artists Jeff Burthke and Micah Bournes. The two artists selected her as a participant in the poetry slam. She performed in honor of the Justice Conference, an international conference that features internationally acclaimed speakers who are dedicated to inspiring a movement for justice.
Cynthia was the opening act for Emmy Award winning journalist, as well as solo-award winning actor, Anita Woodley, in her show Mama Juggs.
Her poetry is published in the Spring 2013 edition of Share, an Art and Literary Magazine.
With nearly 100,000 poets registered, Cynthia received a position as a poetry mentor for youth in the U.S. and other countries at the largest online and moblie site for teen poetry, powerpoetry.org
She was in the Residence Life Newsletter, acknowledged for performing three poems and planning, as well as hosting an open mic that focused on spreading awareness about domestic violence.
She was invited to be a guest speaker at a Youth Conference held by It's All About The Kids Mentoring Program.
Cynthia was invited by Language Arts Teacher Dianne Sethna, to speak at Creekland Middle School and received a certificate.
She won second place in the university talent show, GGC Idol and third place in the RHA Talent Show.
Cynthia has been a well-known act consecutive times at The Arts of Cobb Theatre and Vauderville Showcase in the Marietta Square.
Cynthia is a devotional writer for Rest Ministries, a Non-Profit which sends out devotionals to 1,000-3,000 readers through the Amazon Kindle and email subscriptions.
